Wageningen UR (University & Research centre) has climbed in the global world reputation rankings of best universities and is now ranked in the top 61-70 universities. The 2015 Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings is a leading reputation index of universities around the world.

In 2012 and 2013, Wageningen UR was ranked among the top 91-100 universities (no data were available for 2014). The only two Dutch universities that now rank higher, in the top 51-60 group, are UvA and TU Delft; Leiden University scored the same as Wageningen UR. Utrecht is the only other Dutch university in the top 100, in the 71-80 group. Harvard University in the United States holds first place in the World Reputation Rankings.

In the index organisation's other global rankings, THE World Universities Rankings, Wageningen UR holds the 73rd position (2014-15). The 2015 rankings will be published on 1 October.

Reputation Rankings

The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings are based on the views of highly experienced academics and lecturers (average of more than 15 years' experience). They were asked to nominate the best institutions in their fields of expertise. The academics invited to take part are chosen based on United Nations data to ensure the results are representative and are evenly spread across all academic disciplines. The 2015 rankings are based on surveys conducted between November 2014 and January 2015. About 10,000 respondents from 142 countries shared their findings.
