Wageningen UR signed contracts in China during trade mission Prime Minister Rutte

During the trade mission to China of Prime Minister Mark Rutte Wageningen UR signed two contracts with Yili and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese Animal Husbandry Group. Robert Gorcom, director of RIKILT signed on behalf of Wageningen UR, in the presence of Prime Minister Mark Rutte and state secretary Wilma Mansfield.

The two contracts are the realization of the MoU signed in the Netherlands in March 2014 during the state visit of the President of China, Xi Jinping. The topics regarding the continued collaboration with Yili Dairy are: (i) variability in human milk composition, a comparison of Chinese and Dutch human milk, and (ii) feasibility study for Yili Food Safety Identification System. The MoU with China Animal Husbandry Group (CAHG) is the continuation of talks in October and December which were held in Beijing between officials of CAHG and Wageningen UR. For Wageningen UR the president of the Executive Board, Louise O. Fresco, and the director of the Animal Sciences Group, Martin Scholten, amongst others were present.
