Workshop Career Planning, 21 November, Bangladesh
The department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (CE DUET) organised, as part of the Nuffic NICHE 85 project, a one day workshop on Career Planning for their 4th year students.
More than 80 students attended the workshop. Several lectures were given on career development, scholarships opportunities for in higher education and job search. Catharien Terwisscha van Scheltinga, Director Wageningen UR Project Office Dhaka, gave a lecture for the students on career development, competencies and international higher education.
Faculty members of CE, DUET believe that, in today's highly competitive job market, it is no longer enough to have an academic degree. One must also possess a number of basic skills and sharpen them as much as possible before the first day of the job: such as professionalism, career development, project management, interview skills, CV and resume writing.
