Identification and solving of challenges in grassland production systems.

When one travels to any place on earth and looks around, almost everywhere grasses are present in the landscape. At first sight, these grasses look alike, but a closer look and consideration of the environment where they grow, opens a rich world. The lawn in your neighborhood is very different from the grass in the pastures in the rural areas. Not only in use and management, but also in species and variety characteristics.

In the course “Grassland Science”, different teaching methods are used to teach students about these different aspects of grasses both in grasslands and in lawns. Through lectures, practicals, excursions and case studies, in-depth knowledge is gained on botanical, physiological and nutritional aspects of grasses. Also skills are developed relating to problem identification and solving in grassland science.
