Do you have a ResearcherID on Web of Science? Do you know how to update it? You can use Publons to use your Web of Science ID as a profile page.

Web of Science ResearcherID moved to Publons

In May 2019, all ResearcherIDs were moved to the Publons platform. With this transfer the old ResearcherID platform on Web of Science is not available any longer. Publons now displays both your publications in Web of Science and your metrics (citation counts, h-index), together with any peer reviewing and editing activities you register. Publons is a platform that lets you showcase your peer reviewing and journal editing activities. Currently, 800 researchers from WUR have a Publons profile. More information about registering peer-review activity can be found in our blog posts Rewarding your peer review and editorial contributions: Publons and International Peer Review Week 2019.

Updating your researcher profile

In Web of Science, the ResearcherID can still be used to look for publications by certain authors, like yourself. Having a ResearcherID is good for the visibility and findability of your work.

If you already have a ResearcherID, the best way to update your ResearcherID/Publons profile is through Web of Science.

  1. Set up an alert on your name, including name variations, or search regularly for your publications. Check carefully the individual publication record.

  2. Select “Export” and then “Claim on Publons”. Make sure that the pop-ups are not blocked.

  3. Confirm your Web of Science import on the Publons platform.

You can add your Publons profile to your We@WUR profile to show it on your personal WUR webpage. Any links to your previous ResearcherID page will be redirected to your Publons profile. Find more information about other researcher profiles on the library website.
