Design a monitoring and reporting methodology for SDG 15.3, which is in line with the UNCCD indicators and reporting format, but also will take into account the specific national context of the Netherlands, to be able to assess realistically on the current land degradation status of the soils in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is party to the UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification) and with that commitment is obliged to report about the progress that has been made towards the objectives of the convention. This project explores how the standard UNCCD methodology should be adapted to take into account the specific conditions in the Netherlands. In this project we aim to assess the suitability of the UNCCD method for monitoring and reporting methodology for SDG 15.3, for the Dutch context and which additional tools could be added to the method to enable a more realistic assessment of the actual Land Degradation Neutrality status and evolution in the Netherlands.
