prof.dr. M (Maria) Suarez Diez
Hoogleraar/LeerstoelhouderMaria Suarez Diez studied physics and obtained her PhD in theoretical physics studying cosmological implications of high energy physis (2006). She moved to biology and worked as a post-doc in France (Ecole Polytechnique) where she started working in structural biology with applications in synthetic biology. At the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, in Germany, she applied her strong mathematical and physics background to tackle a broad range of biological systems (2009-2011). Since 2011, she works at Wageningen University & Research and in 2022 she became Full professor and Chair Systems and Synthetic Biology.
