Adaptive resistance management for Phytophthora under climate change

The extent to which climate change over the coming decades will influence production, is uncertain. There will be an impact on crop growth and yields expected. In addition, plant diseases will occur more extreme. Finally, sustainability in agriculture becomes increasingly important.

In this project, the complex problem of blight in potatoes is put in a model. The goal is to develop a Complex Adaptive System (CAS) case from work on resistance management in the context of climate change for the Northern Netherlands. A number of adaptive mechanisms will be developed to fit on different scales in a CAS can be used by an Agent Based Model (ABM).
