In this EU project models and scenarios are developed to evaluate the exposure of for example workers, residents and users of pesticides to pesticides concentrations in the air.
In the current assessment methodologies for the authorization of pesticides for agricultural use in the Netherlands and the EU, the effects of exposure are still not sufficiently taking into account. Wageningen UR assists in the development of models and scenarios for volatilization.
For achieving an effective Dutch contribution to the final assessment methodologies, the following activities are required: further developing the PEARL model to quantify for agricultural applications the emission into the air, developing a methodology for estimating the contribution of spray drift on the air emissions, and
developing exposure scenarios. The developed instruments contributes to a sustainable and responsible use of pesticides in agriculture.
