More information is needed on the effects of biomass harvesting on the current and proposed biodiversity so managers of forest, nature or other 'green' areas can safely harvest the biomass.
In 2008 the government arranged a Covenant Sustainable Agro Industries with the sector Forest, Nature, Landscape and Wood. It states that this sector in 2020 will contribute 32 PJ per year to sustainable energy. It is unclear how the biomass production of natural areas, forests and land elements and other green environments can be exploited without harm to the existing and planned biodiversity.
There is need for safe harvesting opinion of biomass, so that administrators can feel confident about their biomass harvests in the knowledge that they do not harm biodiversity.
