Consumer based business models
The agro&food-sector operates in an environment which imposes additional requirements. It is desired to form this development in such a way that the Dutch agricultural and food sector will have a sustainable competitive advantage in 2020.
Abstract
The Dutch agriculture and horticulture works under the influence of various forces, which are both opportunities and threats for sustainable development. It operates in a society that sets statutory demands before a license to operate is provided. The societal demands to the sector are reflected in a multitude of issues: animal welfare, crop protection, mega stables, human health, antibiotics, climate change and environmental pollution. In short, the agro & food industry operates in an environment that imposes additional requirements. The desire for this development is in such a form that the Dutch agricultural and food sector in 2020 is in a position of sustainable competitive advantage.
