Crop protection in new no-till/ridge till systems

Especially herbicides for large crops affect the surface and groundwater.

To reduce the burden of herbicides, there is need for innovations that lead to weed prevention and reduced emission of plant protection products, and possibly simultaneous cost savings and opportunities for profiling.

The aim of this project is to test the new cost-saving ridge till and no till methods under Dutch conditions, and to investigate whether the same favorable weed suppression can be achieved as abroad.

Results are insights into the required machinery and techniques and the modifications needed to adapt the ridge till and no-till techniques for integrated pest management and organic farming under Dutch conditions.
