Cultivation above the ground: Summerflowers and perennials

Within this project it will be examined which cultivation systems are sustainable and economically viable for the cultivation above the ground of summer flowers and/or perennials.

The systems must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimise the emission of nutrients and pesticides
  • Preventing replantation problems
  • Alleviation of labour
  • Flexibilisation of cultivation
  • A wide range that can grow on the system
  • The production quality must be at least equal to that of traditionally grown products
  • Economic perspective

The aim of this project is to develop one or more production systems for summer flowers or perennials that has a minimum emission of nutrients and pesticides, and has sufficient economic perspective.
