Cultivation above the ground: Summerflowers and perennials
Within this project it will be examined which cultivation systems are sustainable and economically viable for the cultivation above the ground of summer flowers and/or perennials.
The systems must meet the following requirements:
- Minimise the emission of nutrients and pesticides
- Preventing replantation problems
- Alleviation of labour
- Flexibilisation of cultivation
- A wide range that can grow on the system
- The production quality must be at least equal to that of traditionally grown products
- Economic perspective
The aim of this project is to develop one or more production systems for summer flowers or perennials that has a minimum emission of nutrients and pesticides, and has sufficient economic perspective.
