Exploration of space and health risk

Since the outbreaks of infectious diseases and especially the Q fever there is an increased concern for the health of humans, animals and environment in relation to animal husbandry.

There is a need for an integrated approach to determine the influence of spatial structure on the transmission of animal diseases between farms and the transmission of zoonotic bacteria from livestock.

The goal of this project is to develop a model for integrated risk assessment for farms on risks for transmission of infection to other farms and to humans.

An integrated risk modeling will be performed, followed by the search for integrated solutions, for example looking at 'open' and 'closed' animal husbandry.
