This project is about diminishing food wastage.
From September 2011 onwards, two issues have been centre stage: 1) to tackle barriers in legislation on information required on food products and 2) the identification of sources of food wastage that can be used in a better way. These issues were chosen because these wastage streams are large.
Late 2011 the results were discussed, and possible additional solutions and recommendations were identified. This project aims to make recommendations from the report 'Reducing Food Waste "concrete. Reducing food waste is one of the central issues in making the food chain more sustainable. In particular the usability dates on food products and previous research on food wastage will be looked at.
