Gene bank forest trees and shrubs

The genebank for indigenous forest trees and shrubs is of great importance for the realization of the national policy for landscape, sustainable forest management, conservation and nature. Therefore, wherever possible autochtonous genetic material must be incorporated in the genebank, and the use source material from the genebank must be widely promoted.

Goals of this project are:

  • To support the State Forest Service (SBB) in the optimal preservation, targeted expansion and extension of the collection of native trees and shrubs and the provision of information on the materials held in the genebank.
  • To promote the use of more native trees and shrubs by good information and the provision of material from the gene bank.

The CGN is implementing the project.
