Innovation system and upscaling in practice

This project plays a role in innovating and designing processes in agricultural and food systems.

Abstract

In collaboration with policy and industry Wageningen UR contributes to innovation and design processes in agricultural and food systems. These are often pilots, and the question is whether and how the new practices developed can be transferred to a broader group of entrepreneurs with the aim to contribute to system change and the realization of major social goals, such as sustainability and food security. This project builds on three innovation projects in international relations:

  • Co-innovation on integrated pest management in Europe (PURE (EU FP7);
  • Co-innovations around natural resource management and agribusiness development in African agriculture (JOLISAA (EU FP7);
  • Chain Innovations and partnerships with private input and service providers. MIDD Dairy (cooperation in Ethiopia, Embassy and DGIS.
