This project works on an estimation of the variance and extraction efficiency of all process parts of 3 or 4 methods. Furthermore it aims to replace the unreliable and laborious process parts, possibly by making use of population characteristics.
All research is done in close cooperation with the sampling agencies.
There are three problems with the current methods and techniques:
- The variance of the estimated nematode densities is too large
- The nematode efficiency is unknown and may not be the same at all times.
- Some parts of the extraction and separation process are laborious and therefore expensive.
Reliable and cost effective extraction and separation techniques for free living nematodes.
