The development of the model instrumenarium needed to evaluate the effects of use, policy and management and to weigh different forms is complex.
Within IMARES these instruments developed largely dependent on client-project basis, resulting in a fragmented availability and employability.
The goal of this project is the development of quantitative models to support planning and decision making particularly in relation to the policy framework marine Natura 2000 and Common Fisheries Policy.
In the near future traffic is getting busier in the North Sea. To design this planning process properly, taking into account all stakeholders, an integrated assessment framework is needed. The instruments for integration within developed models allow to calculate the effects of potential policies . This leads to a more objective decision making.
