Model Waters Streams

The model Waters Streams is developed by researchers from Wageningen UR from a simple calculator to a comprehensive model to calculate streams within or between glasshouse clusters.

The model predictions contribute to a better understanding of the size and nature of emission streams.

In this project, the validation of the model was done with the data sets of four tomato, three pepper and two roses cultivation companies and has focused on the comparison between the actual water consumption at the premises and the model-calculated water consumption. Overall there is good match between simulated and actual water consumption in most of the growing season for tomatoes and peppers. In rose, this was somewhat less well.
