Monsteronderzoek in het kader van het Bewakingsonderzoek van de NVWA; tevens mogelijkheid praktijkevaluatie nieuwe meetmethod

The broad screening of relevant samples can provide improved insight into the current use of antibiotics and growth promoters that can serve as input for future monitoring programmes. These results contribute to the formulation of criteria for the examination of the abuse of ‘prohibited’ substances that are naturally present in the body.

The project has two objectives:

  • The broad examination of samples using bioassays and instrumental      screening methods for an exploratory study of known and unknown substances      and for an examination of new methods developed for the Statutory Research      Tasks
  • The study of specific priority substances and/or metabolites that      fall outside the limited scope of the National Plan for the Residues      Directive, 96/23/EC

Research to be carried out in 2014:

1. GR-Calux assay screening of corticosteroids in cattle feed and LC-MS/MS confirmation.

2. Estradiol confirmation with IRMS in fish feed, water and spawn.

3. Analysis of fluoroquinolones, cephalosporins and aminoglycosides present in meat and milk at low levels.

4. Screening of cattle/horse/pig urine for NT and metabolites.

5. Somatotropin assay screening and LC-MS/MS confirmation in serum/milk.
