Nanomaterials are developing rapidly. Before they reach the market, they must be tested for their human and environmental risks.
This project will examine whether existing tests are applicable to estimate the risks of nanomaterials for the soil environment. Soil is a very important environmental compartment, but in international research into the risks of nanomaterials studied less compared to the aquatic environment. Special attention is paid to the potential of nanomaterials to be able to poison food chains, such as PCBs and DDE do.
