This project investigates how government and industry should translate the results of a survey into consumer perception of nanotechnology into recommendations for risk communication.
- How consumers experience the risks and benefits of nanotechnology applications in food and agriculture?
- How do they handle this?
- How can government and industry best respond?
This research provides recommendations for government and businesses. The recommendations indicate how they should communicate about nanotechnology and nanotechnology applications in food and agriculture towards consumers.
In 2012, these recommendations are further explored and concretized by means of experimental research. The project builds on the results of research from 2010 and the project BO-08.011.02-018. In this parallel project the perception of Dutch consumers were studied through a survey among 2500 consumers. Food and Biobased Research of the University carries out both projects.
