Optimisation of the distribution of grass protein in livestock companies

The Netherlands imports a lot of protein while there is plenty of protein available in the grass. However, this is not present at the right time and in the right place.

For example, in autumn-grass there is a large surplus of proteins. These are not used, but are being excreted with urine and manure. Also the distribution of protein in livestock is not optimal. Low yielding and dry cows are often given too much proteins, while protein must be added to the diet of still growing, and in particular high-producing cows. The goal of this project is to reduce the import of proteins and to achieve better utilization of the proteins present in companies.
