Promoting students’ transitions to successive VET levels through continuing learning pathways
To promote students’ transitions to successive educational levels, continuing learning pathways have been implemented in Vocational Education and Training (and general education) systems as curriculum design solutions. The present study aims to compare the effects of a specific continuing learning pathway in Dutch VET (the Green Lyceum or GL) with a more traditional route (regular secondary vocational education or mbo) in terms of students’ learning performance and their transitions to higher vocational education (hbo). Moreover, former GL students’ experiences in the first year of their hbo study programme will be examined and compared with the experiences of students coming from mbo or havo (general secondary education) programmes.
