Refresh: Resource Efficient Food and dRink for the Entire Supply cHain

The overall aim of REFRESH is to develop ways of how to help consumers and businesses to avoid food waste and how to valorize unavoidable food waste. In order to make sure that sustainable options are chosen, we also need to have a way to better estimate the environmental impact of food waste. In task 2.5 of work package 2, we will Design and Develop a Decision Support System (DSS) that can provide evidence on how to reduce food losses and valorise by-products in piloted supply chains. In the context of this project and working package 2 the definition of the Decision Support System (DSS) is ‘a management tool to analyze the supply chain of perishable food products and to evaluate logistical and technological innovations for their contribution to reduce food losses and valorize by-products.
