Application of Biobased Economy (BBE) to sustain our society demands a thorough analysis that demonstrates that preservation and provides the public with the right information.
The production of green raw materials plays a key role because it affects the food, scarce resources, climate change and biodiversity loss. Therefore it is necessary to gather knowledge about the degree of sustainability of agricultural production materials for the Biobased Economy. In addition, advices on the improvement of the degree of sustainability in the mode of production are important.
The goal of this project is to conduct a case study to quantify the sustainability of biomass production with increasing biomass demand as a first step in designing a calculator. This study should provide insight into the strengths and weaknesses of current data / calculation tools for quantification of sustainable biomass production and therefore acts as an agenda for future years.
