Tools for consensual forms of participation in planning processes

The contemporary nature-, landscape- and water-policy develop increasingly towards 'governance'. Regional area-processes are the ultimate example for this. Such processes are usually based on the participation of major stakeholders. Therefore a large number of methods and tools is used. Methods range from kitchen table conversations, through design sessions and area committees. The aim of this project is to contribute to the strengthening of public participation in planning processes by enhancing the tools for this. Two cases in the Netherlands and Switzerland are performed with a specific process area where a new developed tool is applied.
