Transition phosphate and exploration depletion other minerals

Mineral nutrients are not infinitely available, but because of the growing world population the need for these nutrients is increasing. Phosphate is one of these nutrients.

A substitute for phosphate does not exist, but it is recyclable. The goal of this project is to further analyze the study about the closure of the phosphate-cycle that was performed in 2011 and see what the possible consequences of this closure are for the diets of Europeans.

Furthermore, there will be explored which mineral nutrients also wear out, what can be the effect of this and how this can be counteracted.
