Part of the knowledge about the application of (residual) wood from forests for energy is not utilized because there is confusion about the terms used. Both within a language and between languages the same concepts are sometimes interpreted differently. Thus, knowledge and results from research are only limitedly used.
Netherlands participates in the COST Action FP9092, which harmonizes the terminology and methods for research in the biomass chain between forest and conversion / end use. The aim of this project is the translation of the glossary of the COST Action FP9092, which makes linking to relevant lists in other languages possible.
