Samenvatting

This report describes a business case analysis of eco-feed concepts (slurry feed for pigs and dry feed for chicken). In this analysis, the costs of food residue stream collection, processing to eco-feed and distribution costs are considered. Sensitivity to supply and logistic parameters is analyzed. The food residue stream characteristics and logistic settings are characterized by several parameters that can be adapted to any specific situation. In the base scenario the business case shows positive results for slurry feed; for dry feed, the result was only marginally positive due to costs for drying. Based on these findings it is concluded that eco-feed is most promising as slurry feed, especially in a startup where volumes may be relatively small.
