COST is the European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research. It supports cooperation among scientists and researchers across Europe. Action group 872 focuses on exploiting genomics to understand plant-nematode interactions. Our lab coordinates one of three working groups within the Action: Functional genomics of plant parasitic nematodes. For more information visit the website: http://www.cost.esf.org
Several presentations were given by people of our lab:
Geert Smant: Characterization of genes encoding for small hypervariable peptides in Globodera rostochiensis.
Aska Goverse: Structure-function analyses of Gpa2-mediated resistance against the potato cyst nematode Globodera pallida.
Anna Tomczak: Secretome polymorphisms in avirulent and virulent lines of Globodera rostochiensis differentially recognized by the H1 resistance gene in potato.
Hans Helder: The use of neutral (= pathogenicity unrelated) genes to unravel evolutionary relationships among high impact plant parasitic nematodes.
Jose Lozano: A venom allergen-like protein from cyst nematodes is required for parasitism and induces the expression of PR1 in host plants. (Poster presentation)
