The Green Office Wageningen consists of a group of green-minded students aiming to enhance sustainability within Wageningen University & Research. The students are supported by Facility Services of Wageningen University & Research. The concept of a green office has been developed in 2010 and for the first time successfully implemented at the University of Maastricht. Green Office Wageningen is the second such organization in the Netherlands. Green Office Wageningen was officially launched on 10th October 2012.
Green Office Wageningen plays a central role in supporting and connecting students, employees en project on the subject of sustainability. The tasks of Green Office Wageningen consist of:
- Connecting the Facility Services department of Wageningen University & Research with the education and research departments. Green Office Wageningen promotes this cooperation on projects aimed at making our business more sustainable. For example by offering assignments as an MSc thesis, internship or ACT.
- Creating a platform for stakeholders in the field of sustainability, where information is exchanged and cooperation can take place.
- Support in realizing ideas and initiatives focused on sustainability at Wageningen University & Research.
- Strengthen the sustainability strategy of Wageningen University & Research.
