If you want to publish in an Open Access journal, first check its quality through its impact factor, and be aware of predatory publishers.

It's important to choose a high quality journal. To take a good decision have a look at the Directory of Open Access journals (DOAJ) and the list of Open Access journals and their impact factors.

Be aware of predatory publishers. Predatory publishers publish articles without adequate peer review and fill their editorial boards with names of well-known researchers without the researcher's knowledge. They commonly send spam emails to potential authors, solicit submissions and request payment of article processing charges. They lack any discernible scholarship, academic rigour or credibility.
