Prof. dr ir. E.J. van Henten and Prof. dr ir. P.W.G. Groot Koerkamp will give their inaugural address, entitled "Biosystems Engineering - Exploiting the potential of technology for sustainable agricultural production" on Thursday 10 October at 16.00 hours at the University Auditorium.
Reflexive Interactive Design (RIO) is the systematic transformation of a problem or challenge into requirements, functions and solutions. In this way we can reflect on current needs and systems, and enhance our thinking. Despite huge innovations since the start of agriculture, the structure and functions in arable farming systems have hardly changed. RIO can help to design and realize new agricultural production systems that supply us with food and other natural goods in the future in a sustainable and socially acceptable way.
