A delegation most of them member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences visits Dutch institutions to share information and discuss measures in relation to biosecurity that are applied in both countries. The delegation is guest of the Dutch Academy of Science (KNAW).

On March 26, the delegation visited the High Containment Unit (HCU) at the Central Veterinary Institute (CVI), part of Wageningen UR, at the Houtribweg in Lelystad. This unit is built to work safe with viruses that cause infectious diseases. The special construction is meant to keep viruses inside preventing release in the environment. CVI is designated for diagnosis of notifiable diseases. Also, within the HCU research is performed on zoonotic diseases and new and improved vaccines against animal diseases. The HCU in Lelystad is the only in its kind in the Netherlands and in Europe rather unique because not all Member States have such a facility .
