Are you working on a review or grant application and need to summarize the latest relevant research trends? Planning on continuing your career outside academia but don’t know where to start? Then join the live training with experts on Scopus and SciVal and sign up for the session below.
The workshop will focus on the use of Scopus and SciVal to help you in your day-to-day work, networking, and career planning. The workshop is open for WUR PhD candidates and post-docs and is free of charge. The event is co-hosted by WUR Library, WUR Young Academy & Corporate Value Creation.
About the workshop
As the number of scientific publications is rising exponentially, you need smart tools to navigate, review and summarize past scientific activity in a certain field of research. Research analytics tools such as Scopus and SciVal provide insights into important patterns and trends within different research domains. SciVal is a bibliometric tool that uses Scopus data to analyse the research performance of individuals or groups.
In the training session, you will learn:
• How to effectively identify the right body of literature for a review paper or thesis chapter beyond keyword searches?
• Which corporates or other institutes do research in a certain field? Could they be considered as collaborators or for your possible next career step?
• How to summarize the amount of scientific activity in a certain field over time?
• How to explore research contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
