Radio 1 is airing a four-part series program about science in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries throughout November and December. Sunday 8 December was dedicated to discussions on science in Brazil. Arthur Mol, chair of the Environmental Policy Group, participated in this broadcast, as well as PhD candidate and Brazilian native, Carolina Machiel (and fellow WUR colleague Joop van Lenteren.)

Interested to hear the conversation, check the link (starting at roughly minute 31 of a larger programme dedicated to various topics on Brazil).  The broadcast is mainly in Dutch, and partially in English. Several topics discussed include the quality of university facilities and infrastructure in Brazil, as well as the need to connect science to real-life problems via a "science for impact" approach.
