Lennart van der Burg, 29, obtained his Bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences in Delft and decided to continue his studies at Wageningen University.
The university’s international character, it’s great reputation and the curriculum were decisive factors for him. In 2008, he obtained his Masters in Environmental Economics, after which he could start working for Grontmij almost immediately. He currently works on sustainability projects and has to conduct work-related visits to China and Mexico on a regular basis. Together with Wageningen UR, he is designing a greenhouse complex in China that will cover 20 hectares. The favourite thing about his work is that he gets to set up projects that are realised and contribute towards sustainable development.
He benefits from his degree on a daily basis: “In the end, it’s the basis of knowledge and skills you obtain during your masters that you use in your work.”
