Bram graduated from the MSc Animal Sciences in 2015. During his study, he followed the two (former) specialisations 'Animal Breeding and Genetics' and 'Animal Nutrition'. At this moment he is working for a breeding company, about which you can read in his story below.
My work as a Geneticist for Hypor combines scientific research with practical implementation of a breeding program. Hypor is one of the five business units of Hendrix Genetics, a leading multi-species breeding company with primary activities in layer, turkey, pig, aquaculture and traditional poultry breeding. I am involved in pig research and responsible for making genetic progress, by selecting and combining superior individual animals to be the parents for the next generation. The MSc Animal Sciences programme provided me with multidisciplinary knowledge on animal production and resonated well with the desired skills for my job. It gave me the opportunity to learn the scientific background and to apply my passion about animal breeding in my job.
