In September 2013, I started my work at the Laboratory of Nematology. The thesis I performed at the LMA group was part of my Bachelor in Biotechnology. For five months I was working on the production of Transforming Growth Factor beta in tobacco plants.
The comfortable atmosphere at the department was there from day one. Everyone was in for a talk and some fun during work time, lunch or coffee breaks. The time spend on the lab was especially fun, since we were working there with a lot of students at the same time. Due to this nice environment and helpful people, I learned a lot during a short period of time. The weekly work discussions were contributing to that as well, since they were about learning from others and their research. What was remarkable and certainly a positive point is that the people of the Laboratory were all trying to involve the students in their daily routine and annual activities. I am grateful that I could join this Laboratory for five months. And I can honestly say I have not eaten that much cake in the same period of time, ever;).
