ETC Biodiversity
In het ETC BD consortium draagt Wageningen Environmental Research bij aan de ontwikkeling van ruimtelijke informatie met betrekking tot flora, fauna, vegetatie en habitat informatie, zowel in het veld als met remote sensing. Wageningen Environmental Research is betrokken bij de assessments op het gebied van Natura 2000, soorten modellering en ecosystemen op Europees niveau, met betrekking tot fragmentatie en connectiviteit, zowel bij relaties van soorten met hun omgeving als Hoge Natuur Waarde land- en bosbouw.
De aanwezigheid van Wageningen Environmental Research in het consortium geeft de mogelijkheid Nederlandse kennis en ervaring in te brengen in Europa, maar het is ook een modus voor tweezijdige communication en het opdoen van kennis en informatie over de belangrijkste biodiversiteitgerelateerde onderwerpen op dit moment. Door de betrokkenheid van Wageningen Environmental Research bij de nationale biodiversiteitsagenda kunnen we input geven aan nationale onderwerpen, het oplossen van problemen en significant bijdragen aan veel van de kritieke problemen van deze tijd.
