Education at the Education and Learning Sciences Group

The ELS chair group offers courses in three fields of education and learning.

  1. Skills training
Skills training involves a range of skills courses and learning activities targeted at BSc, MSc and PhD students and on professionals in the field of the life sciences.

  2. Teacher training
Teacher training includes an educational training trajectory (30 ECTS) that leads to a (restricted) degree in teaching for secondary education and that can be embedded both in the BSc (Minor Education) and outside the BSc (Educational Module). Teacher training at ELS also includes an orientation programme, a set of courses for students who are not yet sure if they want to become a teacher though want to explore teaching and training skills (including an orientation on practice in the field).

  3. Thematic courses in the field of education and learning
Thematic courses cover the fields of learning for sustainable development (including the AMC variant Capacity Building for Sustainable development) and entrepreneurial learning / learning in businesses (including the MSc track Entrepreneurship).

ELS also offers thesis and internship possibilities related to education and learning, often in co-supervision trajectories with colleagues from other chair groups.

The ELS course offer resonates the ELS vision to try understand and facilitate the unfolding of human potential in response to global challenges and responds to the WUR vision on Education.
