
Register at the municipality
If you are going to study in Wageningen, you will have to register at the local municipality. Both EU and NON-EU students have to register.
How to become a resident in Wageningen?
All foreign students staying in the Netherlands for more than four months must register as a resident of Wageningen at the Town Hall municipal registry office.
Make sure you bring the following documents:
- Municipality registration form (completely filled out) that you received by email.
- Copy of passport and original passport
- Copy of entry visa (see passport) or the approval letter of the IND
- The rental contract of your room. Please print your rental contact before you travel to Wageningen or save it on your cell phone.
- Original marriage or divorce certificate (if applicable)
- For widows/widowers: a marriage certificate and death certificate (if applicable)
How to become a resident of another town?
If you have found a room in another city, you need to register at the municipality of the city of residence.
For municipalities other than Wageningen, you need to bring the following documents:
- Passport or Identity card
- Original birth certificate
- Copy of your entry visa (see passport) or the approval letter of IND
- Proof of accommodation (e.g. rental contract), please print your rental contract before your arrival in Wageningen.
- Original marriage or divorce certificate (if applicable)
- For widows/widowers: a marriage certificate and death certificate (if applicable)
