(Sub)Cellular Imaging

Range of fluorescence microscopes is available for spectroscopy on micrometre scale. Proces-
ses in compartments of cells can be imaged.

Our equipment

  • Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM)
Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) allows 3D localization of labelled target molecules in cells and food samples.
  • FRET-FLIM (Förster resonance energy transfer by fluorescence lifetime imaging)
To image FRET between proteins in root cells, the Leica SP5 CLSM is equipped with fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM).
  • Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS)
FCS measures diffusion, dynamics and spatial distribution of single fluorescent molecules in solution and in living cells.
  • Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP)
FRAP is used to quantify diffusion of fluorescently labeled probes in cells.
  • Total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRF)
Dynamics and interactions of labelled molecules in the plasma membrane of cells (that adhere to the glass surface) can be imaged with high sensitivity...
