Africa Talent Programme
The Africa Talent Programme (ATP) has been initiated by Wageningen University & Research to give top talents from Africa the opportunity to study towards a PhD or obtain a postdoc position at Wageningen University.
The selection committee would like to receive applications from a diverse background. As such, no specific requirements are stipulated, other than the following prerequisites. You are only eligible for a PhD position if you meet the entry requirements of Wageningen University for a PhD. In case an application for a postdoc position is made, candidates must have a recognized doctoral degree. In both cases the applicant must be fluent in scientific English.
A professor* at Wageningen University is the only person who can start the application for a candidate of the Africa Talent Programme. Therefore, you will have to find a Wageningen professor who will endorse your application (list of chair groups and contact information can be found here). A professor of Wageningen University may only submit one application.
*When the word ‘professor’ is used, persons who have the ius promovendi at Wageningen University are meant.
Applications will first be pre-evaluated by a Wageningen graduate school (application deadline 1 May 2020) with each of the six graduate schools allowed to submit only one application. The total number of pages of the application should not exceed 10 pages. Graduate schools have to send their application in one compiled file through SURFfilesender to pieter.munster@wur.nl before 12 May 2020.
It is up to the applicant to provide the appropriate documentation that could convince the selection committee that you are a suitable candidate for the African Talent Programme.
