Persistent environmental contaminants
Wageningen Food Safety Research is the national reference laboratory (NRL) for research into persistent environmental pollutants (persistent organic pollutants, POPs) in food and animal feed. This includes the following fabric classes:
- Dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
- Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs, including PFOS and PFOA)
- Chlorine paraffins
- Brominated flame retardants (including polybrominated diphenyl ethers, PBDEs)
