Food technology & Dairy Tailor-made Course for Shandong Food Association

In November 2018, Wageningen Academy organized a tailor-made study program for Shandong Food Association. About 15 entrepreneurs and researchers from Shandong province in China participated in the programme.

Tailored Food Technology and Dairy programme

The training programme combined both lectures, practical examples and ample opportunity for questions from the participants. The training was given by Prof. dr. Tiny van Boekel and dr. Guido Sala of Wageningen Agrotechnology & Food Sciences Group.

Prof. dr. Tiny van Boekel used diary as a typical example to explain how to explore the optimal value from the whole milk chain by collaboration among academy organizations, industrial partners and also governmental organizations. Dr. Guido Sala further explained how to develop less sugar, less salt, less fat but with the same texture based on food reformulation, together with some practical examples.

As Shandong province holds a leading position in agrifood sector in China, based on this training programme, initial contact was built to explore potential collaboration as well as to attract talents for Shandong food.
