Inclusion Top-Ups

(Only available for all EU countries plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Serbia, North Macedonia and Turkey).

The Erasmus+ Programme commits to ensuring equal access and opportunities to participants from all backgrounds. Students mentioned on the categories below could benefit from a Top-Up:

  • Top-Up for inclusion due to economic reasons. As an exchange student, you are eligible for a Top-Up for inclusion due to economic reasons if:

    • You (have) receive(d) the “aanvullende beurs” from DUO. You are requested to provide a copy of an official letter from DUO proving that you (have) receive(d) the “aanvullende beurs”. NB A screenshot from “Mijn DUO” is not valid.
    • Alternatively, please check the DUO calculation Tool Student Finance if you are eligible for a supplementary DUO grant and as such eligible for an Erasmus+ Top-Up. If you are an international student, pretend your parents have an income in the Netherlands.
  • Top-Up for inclusion due to studying with a disability or for medical reasons. As an exchange student, you are eligible for a Top-Up for inclusion due to studying with a disability or for medical reasons if:

    • You have an adjustment or provision in your education registered with the Student Deans based on a medical statement. You are asked to give permission to the Exchange Office to contact the Student Deans to confirm this. In case there is no registration yet, contact the Student Deans to start the procedure. Inform the Exchange Office about this (preferably 4 weeks before departure).

For more information, please check the Declaration of Honour form. If you are eligible for a Top-Up:

  • for Thesis/Internship exchange students: please fill in the Declaration of Honour form and send it together with the Grant Agreement to studentexchange@wur.nl.
  • for Study exchange students: you can apply for the Top-Up as part of your grant application in Osiris Student. Please fill in the Declaration of Honour form and upload the signed document in your grant application.
