The University of California (UC) is a world renowned research university and the major public university of the state of California. UC is a leader in teaching, research and innovation serving both undergraduate and graduate students. Through the UC Education Abroad Program, the University welcomes visiting reciprocity students from over 100 partner institutions in approximately 30 countries. California is a great state if you like traveling as there is a little bit of everything within a few hours of driving: the grand Pacific Ocean, beaches, mountains . . . Next to that, UC is a very reputable university when it comes to academics, especially in biology (#6 worldwide). I wanted to be challenged and see if it lived up to its name.
